43.3681°N · 5.7806°E · CLASS CE2 · EPOCH 1982-10
DATE

DURATION
~20 min

A retired research engineer (anonymized in GEIPAN files as "M.C.") observed an oval object descend over his garden. Burnt circular zone of ~1.4m diameter remained on the lawn; the namesake amaranth plant nearest the touchdown desiccated within hours. CNRS / INRA laboratory analysis (commissioned by GEPAN) reported anomalous water loss in plant tissue inconsistent with thermal explanations. Class D — second only to Trans-en-Provence in physical-evidence rigor.
