Source Licensing & Attribution

This page documents the licensing basis for every corpus AUSPEX indexes, and lists sources on the roadmap that are not yet ingested. Everything AUSPEX currently ships is drawn from public-domain U.S. government works or, in the case of GEIPAN, from a foreign government scientific investigation service with public case records. Civilian reporting databases (NUFORC, MUFON) require documented arrangements before bulk ingest and are not currently in the corpus.

AUSPEX is an independent research platform, not affiliated with any government agency. Where a source uses the classification-marking aesthetic (“UNCLASSIFIED” header banners on FOIA-released memos, for example), that marking reflects the original document's status at the time of release — not any current government affiliation of this project.
