Socorro police officer Lonnie Zamora observed an egg-shaped craft on legs in an arroyo, with two small figures in white coveralls nearby. The craft emitted flame and roar before departing. Physical evidence: four landing-pad impressions, burned brush, and blue flame residue. Zamora was considered one of the most credible witnesses in Blue Book history. Dr. J. Allen Hynek called it the "best-documented close encounter of the second kind."
