Signal Corps radar operators at Fort Monmouth tracked two separate objects moving at apparent speeds exceeding 700 mph at altitudes the operators couldn't determine. A third object was tracked the following day making a descent and speed change impossible for any known aircraft. The events alarmed General Charles Cabell enough to personally convene a briefing at the Pentagon, directly leading to the reactivation of Project Blue Book under Captain Edward Ruppelt.
